I just read this today and how does this blog fit with my last posting? I think there is merit in both blogs actually, the one by Scott Bourne and the one today by Jack Hollingsworth. They both have some valid points.

Essentially, for me, it comes down to being an artist. When I do my drawings or paintings do I vary my prices? Most certainly! It may depend on time, it may depend on how much money the materials cost, it may depend on what medium. Is photography any different? I beg to believe that photography is just another fine art medium with it's own costs. Of course it is easily reproduced and less costly to do this, but as an artist, how do you decide what your photographs should bring to your pocketbook? Is that even a motivation? Or are you doing it for that internal burning that just has to come out in some fashion?

Only you can decide!

An Artist's Thoughts...

I love what I have been reading from champion artistic photographers lately. Their rants on calling photographs by the full name, taking risks to be creative and artistic in their work, just making artistic professional photographers aware of who they are and how they impact how others perceive them and really how they feel about themselves as artists! I have enjoyed reading everyone of them!

If we don't think of ourselves as artists, no one else will!

Two of the articles from a true artist:
